COCO 3.9 released

We are happy to announce the release of COCO 3.9, with the following improvements:
  • Additional compounds from the ChemSep compound database, as well as various corrections in compound data,
  • Fixed workflow when mapping compounds upon importing more than one property package,
  • Stream converter fixes in case of unconnected purge stream,
  • Font update so that UTF special characters show properly in the log window,
  • Added support for mbar and mbarg pressure units,
  • Fixed enthalpy balance for make-up mixer when a mass flow rate target is used,
  • Check for missing molecular weights in heat-of-combustion unit and measure unit,
  • Additional specifications for the splitter: allow specific molar and mass flow rates,
  • Fixes in binary interaction parameter specifications in TEA, when "no temperature dependence" is selected,
  • Stream dialog inside unit operation dialog is only updated when visible, to enhance performance and user experience,
  • Various heat exchanger fixes,
  • Fixed a problem with the installer that caused the update check (CUP) not to run after installation.

Jasper,

This is great! But, of course as an end user I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't ask a question.

Do you know if or when there will be an implementation of eNRTL? I might have some time to help if there is a group of like minded people.

eNRTL requires reactive equilibria (at least in terms of true composition, the composition is a result of the equilibrium routine), so it is not really possible to do this until the upcoming reaction interface standard is published, and supported by COCO. And then still it requires a significant implementation effort. So not in the very near future.
