End-users and developers of process simulation software met virtually on October 14-15, 2020 to discuss CAPE-OPEN at the CAPE-OPEN 2020 Annual Meeting . More than 90 people registered to the event.
CAPE-OPEN 2020 Annual Meeting celebrated the completion of Phase 2 of the CAPE-OPEN Binary Interop Architecture (COBIA) development project which brings to developers a middleware targeted to CAPE-OPEN. For CAPE-OPEN related software development, COBIA middleware is meant to replace COM on Windows and will also be available on other platforms (Phase 3 of the development project). KBC and HTRI reported on their successful use of COBIA onfor new releases of their respective commercial software. Where KBC focused mostly on the performance achieved with COBIA, HTRI focused on the seamless interoperability achieved with COBIA.
CAPE-OPEN 2020 Annual Meeting was the occasion for Mentor Graphics Corporation (a Siemens business) to demonstrate a new CAPE-OPEN Process Modelling Environment: Flomaster. This new PME joins the long list of PMEs that support CAPE-OPEN based interoperability.
You may want to browse through the dozen or so presentations made during CAPE-OPEN 2020 Annual Meeting. You may also hear the recordings made of many of these presentations on CAPE-OPEN YouTube channel.
