Fail to call cape-open unit in hysys

Post by King »

1.After calling a CAPE-OPEN unit in Aspen HYSYS, when choosing the stream to the port, it doesn't work (shows empty in GUI). That means the port couldn't be connected to the stream

2.Then closed the GUI and double clicked again, it showed error and couldn't be opened

ERROR:CAPE-OPEN unit socket. 91:activextender:object variable or with block variable not set (error displaying the cape-open dialog.Object variable or with block variable not set)

CAPE-OPEN Thermo standards have two versions, Aspen HYSYS may have the different one with your Unit Operation, so Aspen HYSYS may can't realize the ports of you Unit Operation.

You'd better test the Unit Operation in COFE and Aspen Plus firstly, then in Aspen HYSYS.

Success in Aspen 8.4 and PRO/II, and both CAPE-OPEN 1.0 and 1.1 have been tried.
