COCO 2.7 is now available for download:

http://www.cocosimulator.org/index_download.html

or use COCO Update (CUP)....

The following improvements have been made in version 2.7:
  • support for custom colour schemes
  • revision of reaction elimination algorithms, leading to improved stability for all reactors that deal with equilibrium reactions
  • replaced linear solvers by Lapack/MKL
  • new dew- and bubble point routines for TEA
  • ability to open unit operation configuration dialog without having to re-solve the flowsheet (Edit dialogs can return Not Changed)
  • support for Consumes_Thermo_CATID and friends
  • improved infeasibility checks on many units (e.g. negative pressure drop messages)
  • improved non-negativity constraint handing in CSTR and equilibrium reactors
  • redefined phase post-checks in pump and turbine
  • complete make-over of water source code (no longer using ATL)
  • PH and PS flash logic errors corrected in water package
  • new dryer icons
  • many performance and stability improvements
  • many bug fixes

Furthermore, Harry Kooijman has made many new examples available. Mostly implemented after flowsheets published in literature, the validated examples are available the ChemSep web site, or from:

We would like to point out that since last year, a freeware and open source CAPE-OPEN utility FlowExchange for exchanging material stream data between CAPE-OPEN compliant simulators. This utility can also be used to interact between CAPE-OPEN compliant flowsheet stream data and external applications by means of reading and writing a documented XML file format. Details are available from http://www.amsterchem.com/flowexchange.html.

If you are authoring CAPE-OPEN applications and you would like to take part in the CAPE-OPEN compliancy testing programme, please visit:
