PCDmanager Vapor Viscosity: Step-by-Step
Posted: 19 July 2014, 17:57
The step-by-step procedure that was used for entering vapor viscosity data is provided in detail here for Compound W, which has no UNIFAC Groups defined.
Start PCDmanager (see two loading messages --> OK, --> No)
1.0 Open pcd file (which has Green essential data check panels except for <T Correlations> panel)
[*] see <Component> panel
select <T Correlations> panel
[*] see IG heat capacity pane displayed showing a curve
select vapor viscosity pane
[*] see a blank <Key Value> pane
[*] see a blank <Plot> panel with no curve displayed
no property estimates are available for vapor viscosity
2.0 (Q1) How to generate an initial curve?
Ref 1 (Table 10.2, p. 143) recommends Equation 102 for vapor viscosity
in the <Key Value> pane
Select Eqn 102
{Dialog} Use table values to fit new equation? --> No
{Dialog} Reset parameters to zero (to prevent error)? --> No
enter values for Tmin and Tmax
in the <Table> panel, enter 22 for #Points
in the <Plot> panel
[*] see no curve plotted
3.0 Select the <Import> panel
select the {open file} icon
select text file type
open the file Compound W liquid viscosity (K, Pa.s) 1.1.txt with (T(K), Pa.s) data pairs
[*] see data loaded in <Import> panel
select <Data> panel
[*] see imported data in table
4.0 Select <Plot> panel
select [Fit] button
{Dialog} Reload data? --> Yes
[*] see no curve plotted
select [Fit] button several more times
[*] see no curve plotted
After all of this effort, nothing worthwhile has been accomplished. Please provide the page numbers in the reference literature that will explain what to do from here. Thank you for your help.
