Input Energy streams and port direction

Post by HenkF »

Hi,
I observed a minor flaw in updating heat stream connectors. When choosing to enter heat from an energy stream - e.g. with a heater/cooler, no other UOP's have been tested yet - the heat stream port has to be defined as an input stream. As a default however the heat stream port is defined as an output stream. The "heat duty from an energy stream" choice does not switch the port direction from output to input as suggested by the UOP GUI (Edit unit operation shows this). A workaround is to save and load the flowsheet, which correctly resets the port direction. Maybe I missed a switch or refresh button?

regards,
Henk

The port is updated as soon as you close the Edit dialog (the one of the unit, not the one of COFE). Do you mean the port tab of the dialog of unit while you are editing the unit?

Hi Jasper,
Thanks for your information. The port list is also correctly updated after adding and removing an information stream.
It's not a big issue however.

I was still trying to understand your problem. Was the problem you see in the edit box of COFE (the one you see when double clicking the unit) or in the edit box of the unit (the one you see if you hit Show GUI in the edit box of COFE)?

Thanks.
