Distillate temperature

Post by thubelihle »

When doing a hand calculation to determine the distillate temperature we do dew point calculation and for the bottoms we do bubble point calculation, aren’t both the distillate and bottoms products liquids, hence why not do bubble point calculation. Or are the calculations done on the 1st and last stage of the column, if so l guess there is no temperature change in the reboiler and condenser, only latent heat is added/removed. I stand to be corrected and thanks for your help.

This question lacks clarity. What do you want to know?

Hi. I want to know why we calculate distillate temperature using dew point calculation when the distillate is liquid. I would assume we use bubble point calculation. Thanks
