Can we import cape open thermodynamics in Open Modelica. This will be of real great help in solving dynamic simulation problem. Thanks.
Is there really any way??

Re: Cannot separate vapor liquid mixture using separator
Thanks for the clarification. On the liquid side, the P-VF flash gives an answer at a temperature that is not the right one. This can happen, because the answers to P-VF flashes are not unique. The flash that is performed, is a backup, it is a TP flash at the right T. But this does not place the str...

Cannot separate vapor liquid mixture using separator
The attached flowsheet is for separation of methanol two phase stream. Stream 15 is a two phase mixture. It has vapor in equilibrium with liquid. It enters a Flash Separator Sep. The intention to put in a flash is to separate vapor from liquid. The will obviously require no heat. Therefore the simul...

Simulation of Methanol Synthesis loop
Dear Jasper, I am trying to simulate a Methanol Synthesis flowsheet. The flowsheet is attached. The author of the article has used RK EOS for simulation. When he cools stream 4 at 874 K and 74 atm to 311.1 and 74 atm, he gets a vapor phase( I presume). But in COFE, i get a two phase stream. If I fix...

Re: Simulation of a Plug Flow Reactor
Please find the attached flowsheet. I have connected the energy stream to the PFR, and selected tube heat duty option. The energy stream shows incorrect value of the heat to be removed from the reactor. Also the heat balance of the reactor shows that the reactor is working adiabatically.

Re: Simulation of a Plug Flow Reactor
Dear Jasper, The attached flowsheet is simulation of PFR for methanol synthesis from CO,CO2 and H2O. The wall heat transfer coefficient and tube heat transfer coefficient have been set to zero. On running the simulation, it is found that the enthalpyF balance is not zero. Can you explain this? I gue...

Simulation of a Plug Flow Reactor
In the Plug Flow reactor Edit menu, under packings, and sub section empty bed we have a text box to enter the Wall dimension. I have gone through the help file but am not so sure, if the information to be supplied is the wall diameter or the wall thickness? How will wall thickness affect the calcula...
